Off To The City tells a story -- a tale of American and International aspirants, all angling for their own piece of New York.
With varying levels of confidence, each character believes themselves a New Yorker, if not in perpetuity -- then at least for an eternal summer.
They all share three distinct qualities -- a dedicated belief in their own talents and gifts, an unwavering refusal to stray from their personal style and what makes them unique, and a level of delusion that is only diagnosed by their family, friends, and acquaintances.
Each character is partially blind and mostly oblivious to the challenges ahead of them as they depart their old lives.
Strangely -- their delusions are their primary assets: a fuel of sorts.
Spoiler: Each character ends up finding success. But only a small few in the way they had imagined and forecasted.
